As an audit clerk, Ms. Hajra Karrim embarked on a journey that has taken her to the highest levels of corporate management. Her impressive 20-plus years of professional experience include over 14 years as chief financial officer of multinational companies. Currently, she is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).

She has extensive experience leading B2B and B2C businesses across a range of industries, including technology, media, broadcasting, entertainment, credit risk management, agriculture, fisheries, and retail. In addition to managing large teams across multiple geographies, she has been instrumental in guiding companies through challenging financial and operational challenges.

In her career, she has achieved the following highlights:

She began her career as an articled clerk at Deloitte in Durban, South Africa, in 1999, during which time she developed a solid understanding of auditing, taxation, and accounting techniques.

A secondment at Deloitte in Toronto, Canada, in 2002, exposed Ms. Karrim to international accounting practices and cultures. In June 2002, she joined Deloitte in Durban, South Africa, as an audit manager, where she gained valuable experience in auditing and financial reporting.



· In 2004, Ms. Karrim joined UniqPlc as Head Office Group Accountant in London, United Kingdom. In 2006, she worked as a head office finance consultant at British Airports Authority Plc.

· In 2007, Ms. Karrim joined the media, technology, and satellite broadcasting organizations as a finance manager. Here, she got her first taste of corporate finance and, having distinguished herself was promoted to the role of CFO of the group’s businesses on the African continent.

· As CFO, she was responsible for the finances, information technology, and business systems of the group's production, broadcasting, and entertainment businesses.

· In 2015, Ms. Karrim joined TransUnion Africa as Chief Financial Officer of its businesses across the African Continent. Here, she led the finance function of the company's African operations, including South Africa, Kenya, Rwanda, and Botswana, among others. Under her leadership, the group's operations and finances were streamlined, and new automation tools and practices were introduced.

· As Chief Financial Officer of Oceana Group Limited, Ms. Karrim joined the company in 2020. Here, she led the finance function of one of the largest canned fish producers. She oversees the financial management of its global fishing, processing, procurement, and marketing operations, as well as information technology requirements. a

Her experience in these diverse CFO roles underpins her deep experience leading and managing organizations and contributes to her skills in driving financial turnarounds, value creation and extraction, change management, restructurings, geographical expansions and divestitures, technology and process implementations, automation and re-engineering, and rationalization of market offerings.
